You wouldn't call it that but you don't know for sure. And what you don't know doesn't hurt you. Right?

but all of the incidents probably stem from the same thing. Superiors put tremendous pressure on the jailers and the interrogators to get intelligence information, and they're willing to look the other way while the unmentionable occurs within sealed-off rooms.

Since they stem from the same thing, I guess then torture is okay to do. Is that what you're saying?

It's never OK, but among other things, that should tell us just how limited intelligence gathering can be, despite the claims that the war on terrorism can be fought by the CIA alone.

And maybe it tells us something else.
