Poll: Majority Says War in Iraq a Mistake
By The Associated Press

June 24, 2005, 2:47 PM EDT

Just over half of Americans, 53 percent, now say the war in Iraq was a mistake -- the highest percentage to say that in AP-Ipsos polling since December 2003, when two-thirds said the war in Iraq was the right thing to do.

The poll taken earlier this week also found that almost six in 10 disapprove of the Bush administration's conduct of the war, but about the same number say they would prefer keeping troops until the situation is stable instead of immediately withdrawing them from Iraq...."

OK, so what the heck does STABLE look like in Iraq? A stable autonomous Kurdistan with its own militia, ownership of the oil fields and jailing of Arabs and Turkmen?

A stable Shite dominated Iraqi government with increasingly close ties to Iran and a restless Sunni minority? What is stable?

Why doesn't Bush come out and say: This is my goal for Iraq, this is what it looks like and this is WHAT IT WILL COST the US Taxpayer. Oh, BTW, make sure I get my tax cuts for the ultrawealthy AND more billions for Halliburton and Bechtel from the US Taxpayer as well.
