We know that Gatti can take a punch. And we know that Mayweather's hands are prone to injury.

All true. But Gatti also has trouble with his hands. Gatti has also been knocked down and almost out numerous times and been stopped by De la Hoya while I don't think Mayweather has ever been knocked down.
