I posted this at Sioux's, re war expenses. Message 21449732

Also went to a talk last week which said that the electrical crisis cost Cal. 70 bil, enuf to rebuild the entire energy infrastructure of the state. I suppose similar figures exist for Wa. and Or. Wasted money we may want in a few years.

I thought Oil Storm was more political based than resource. We didn't hit the peak, we only hit supply glitches because of hurricanes and stuff. Temporary glitch like in the 70's, and then back to normal. That can happen along the way, but, with the real deal, it ain't gonna return to normal in 6 months or a year. At least it is a good lesson for all those too young to have experienced the 70's. If you want to experience the 60's, too, see Woodstock and the Grateful Dead Movie. Much more fun in the 60's.
