Re: "But I DO know that injured Coalition soldiers that are medi-vaced from Iraq to hospitals in Germany and elsewhere that die are not counted as "killed in Iraq" because their death certificates do not show they died in Iraq. So, the question becomes, what IS the number of US deaths from action in Iraq?"

I think you're wrong, at least about the casualties of the Iraq war. The military routinely reports soldiers who've died of wounds after being evacuated from Iraq. They do this even when there is a fairly lengthy delay between the wound and death. For example:

Cpl. Antonio Mendoza, 21, of Santa Ana, Calif., died June 3 at Brook Army Medical Center, San Antonio, from wounds received as a result of an explosion while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, on Feb. 22.

That he was properly included in the statistics kept by the private party (that generally agree with official US statistics) is shown by his inclusion here:
icasualties.org

I have heartfelt sympathy for his friends and relatives.
