Your friend spent seventy years on the farm, and didn't bother to do any research when he changed his farming techniques? That is what what agricultural extensions and publications like New Farming Journal are for, exactly.

From my meager understanding, there are several strategies for weed control with organic farming, including crop rotation as a primary one. Organic farms do not typically grow acres and acres of one crop like soybeans over and over again on the same land without switching out to other crops, either. No till is definitely one strategy, and I have shown you a couple of articles on it, because I know you believe in no till, but apparently are not convinced it can be done with organic farming, and it can, successfully.

I think you have more interest re hanging out on a boat off the coast of Florida than changing the way you farm, though, and I cannot blame you for that!
