Maurice Re: "arty-farty types" That is really a good one. Back in my long ago college days I would take an "R&R" vacation every so often and vist some of my several cousins lounging away at different liberal arts colleges. It was all girls, partytime and no books. That was the thing that really got me; every engineering undergrad had a dorm room that reeked of books and hard work. Cousins and friends had dorm rooms that looked like they had never seen books or hard work. Those places were really big breeding grounds for lefties. Don't personally know any lefties produced by engineering schools, but I guess there are some.
