China rare earth news. I do know the Japanese company is not a big company and had a license with ECD. I met president of company at annual meeting years ago and had plesant few minuets talk with him.

Sanoh Wins the Tender of Project ¡°Research and Industrialization of Automatized Production Line for MH/Ni Power Battery¡±

Project ¡°Research and Industrialization of Automatized Production Line for MH/Ni Power Battery¡± is a Baotou momentous scientific and technological project for tackling key problems. Invitation to bid for the project was released, which 5 domestic and international institutes, universities and companies attended such as Qinghua University, Zhejiang University, Tianjin Peace Bay Company, Sanoh Industrial Co. Ltd, etc. The famous Japanese Sanoh Industrial Co. Ltd won the tender on June 20, 2005.
Inner Mongolia Rare Earth Ovonic MH/Ni Power Battery Co. Ltd is a joint venture between Baogang Rare Earth Hi-Tech Co. Ltd and American Ovonic Battery Co. Ltd. So far its Automatized production line for MH/Ni power battery can not run normally and smoothly due to equipment problems. So Rare Earth Ovonic decided to apply for a scientific and technological project to Baotou Science and Technology Bureau and invite bid for the project.

Sanoh Industrial Co. Ltd has experiences of research and production for MH/Ni batteries and put forward a practical and comprehensive solution for the bid.
