IBM AS/400s to Run Windows NT

Is there anyone left who hasn't jumped on the NT
bandwagon? Blaming a drop in sales of its AS/400
machines on inroads by competitors who run Windows NT,
IBM has announced that its AS/400 line of mid-range
business computers will shortly be made to run NT.

IBM announced that early next year, it plans to begin selling
an upgrade to existing AS/400 machines, as well as a new
AS/400e computer, that will allow users to run Windows NT
applications on AS/400 machines along with IBM's operating
system. The company's AS/400 machines are its mid-range
line of business computers, and use the company's
proprietary operating system. But according to MSNBC, the
AS/400 has posted lower sales in each of the past two
quarters, a drop the company has partly attributed to
skyrocketing demand for competing computers that run NT.

From MS Site.....
