"Cheerleader" is an ok insult, to me, appropriate for this lively forum. Count took exception to your incorporating Nanny's age, which of course she certainly has alluded to, INTO that insult. To him, "elderly cheerleader" had a certain sound to it, and to make that point, he said, sarcastically, something like "What's next, a Polish joke?"
But you and James are asserting here that no ridicule, disparagement, contempt or patronization, was carried by the "elderly" part of "elderly cheerleader"---- you both just feel that Nanny's age was a neutral fact, useful simply to... helping your readers identify the individual to whom you were referring. Right?
James, right?. Say it, James. Neutral. No Polish-joke-like patronizing there, right?
