Right-o. Shinseki was retiring anyway so he had zero to lose by standing his ground. I wonder how hard he and the rest of the career military tried to get the arrogant civilians nitwits to understand.

Since we're actually fighting the Iraqis, no matter how much Bush regularly tries to make it sound as if we're fighting furriners, then we're not fighting for ALL the Iraqis. We're only fighting for those who agree with us AND only as long as they agree with us.

It's astonishing to see Camp Anaconda with its freshly made pizza and multiple flavors of ice cream, tv, videogames and extraordinarily nice (!) quarters in contrast to 2 million Iraqis being without water in 120 degree heat (!)

What the blooming hell are we spending US taxpayer money on other than lining the greedy pockets of KBR and Halliburton?
Why are we spending money on those creature comforts while being unable to secure 7 miles of road to the Baghdad airport?

Why?

Who the blooming hell said it was a good idea to build a western cowboy style post office instead of fixing the sewer system or up armoring all vehicles?

Who?

Does anyone know what they're doing INCLUDING the military?
