Sen. John Kerry, urged the president to "tell the truth to the American people." "Happy talk about the insurgency being in 'the last throes' leads to frustrated expectations at home," Kerry, D-Mass., said in an op-ed piece that appeared in Tuesday's editions of The New York Times.
