| OT Sadly, indeed. Quite by accident, I met Rukeyser once at a soccer festival where one of his grandchildren, if I recall correctly, was playing. This was perhaps five years ago, and I walked up to a man, standing alone, who resembled LR, but looked quite more aged than the figure I had been used to seeing on WSW when I used to watch it, and I asked if he was LR. He nodded, smiled, and we began to chat for a few minutes. He was, in person, as naturally avuncular, good natured, wry, and kindly as his television persona. It was no act. |
