bush was even bragging about taking out saddam during the campaign before he even had the republican nomination. It's no surprise that there's so much secrecy needed to cover up violations of the US Constitution and international law. The US goes wherever it wants to kill whomever it wants whenever it wants and answers to no one. That's a recipe for perpetual war.

I used to work in aerospace R&D and got roped into a few "black programs" or "dark programs" where you did not know who the real customer was and only the program manager could go into a secure vault and talk to the customer on a STU phone hearing only an encrypted voice. We had to sign papers saying we'd never divulge what we worked on for the rest of our lives. I naively thought it was to protect the specs for leading edge technology that no one else in the world had. Nope. It was old tried and true technology but it was to protect the identification of the group that needed to hide their activities and their spending from Congress and the American taxpayers. I suspect the extend of the abuse of these dark programs would boggle one's mind. It's tragic that our Congresscritters are so gullible they fall for this silly ruse to steal taxpayers money to pursue evil deeds.
