Now that would be a feat. CNOOC with a market capitalization of $22 billion trying to take over a company like Chevron with a current market capitalization of $120 billion -- almost five times their size.

They have enough problems on their hands trying to buy Unocal for $18.5 billion, including a $500 million payment to Chevron for interfering with Chevron's contract to buy Unocal.

I personally don't think CNOOC will be buying anything this time around - the doors are locked.
