Any movement that tries to thwart the further spread of Wal-Marts is great, in my opinion! Are you some kind of Wal-Mart supporter? Do you have an understanding of how the spread of Wal-Marts, with their cheap goods and below cost loss leader pricing, destroy supermarkets and other stores that have paid good wages with insurance benefits? Do you know that the minimum wage as a percentage of the cost of living is dramatically lower now than when minimum wage laws began--that it had not kept up with inflation in any way? Do you believe that someone working fulltime should be able to afford food and shelter of some modest sort? Did you know that many full-time workers are either homeless or get their food at food banks, because it is impossible in many parts of the country to eat and have a roof over your head if you have a minimum wage job? The ideas expressed in that article harken back to a feudal society where workers essentially have no rights, no benefits, no nothing. Is that what you believe in?
