Eternity makes rational sense to me. I agree with most of your criticisms on religion and find the depth of research you have applied your studies to be admirable. However, it seems you are only looking at the tails side of that coin.

Given the fullness of time, my dust has likely gone through innumerable beings. I ate some lettuce yesterday, you and the squirrels can keep your pine nuts, I wouldn't eat a wolf because of my regard for their coolness (unless my options were so limited). However, as you know, I consider 'being' to be engaged beyond the temporal and even into eternity. So the fact that my dust is of little consequence, is of little concern for me personally.
