There is an old phrase that goes, “make hay while the sun shines.” It is common sense to ranchers who know that if you delay cutting your hay, you may lose the opportunity to move equipment into the fields as the rain or snow could begin to fall on another day. If that happens the hay probably lays down and begins to rot.

It appears that some of you are attempting to make political hay out of such sound bites as ‘last throes’. I am sure it garners approval in a ranting and chanting crowd of like minded persons but in the mainstream it just lays there and rots.

The Democratic party had a powerful political base in the politics of the past 30 or 40 years. The impression that we get from this unending barrage of petty quibbling is that the Democratic party has been reduced to raving over meaningless drivel like spoiled children having their pacifiers taken from them.

I hope we will see some more mature spokespersons coming the platform soon. This is a good time to make use of time to establish a better base for a liberal platform. The sun is shining.
