All one has to do is click on a simple Yahoo! link and yet, you still can't do it.

I guess if one purchased at the March 1999 high, it would've been basically "dead" money over the past 6+ years (Actually, a slight gain, to be precise).

However, if one would've purchased the S&P 500 Index, they would've been better off owning Berkshire Hathaway.

Furthermore, what you fail to consider is Berkshire Hathaway's cash position. With over $30B in cash, its P/E ratio is close to 12 in this current environment.
