re: The money helps foster the mentality. Now the "martyr" has to worry less about supporting his family, allowing him to be more focused on the task.

The "money" is nothing, the same suicide bombings happened before, during and after he gave money, in many different places. He gave money the same as I give money to a charity.

I could pull an Elroy and say "prove he gave money to suicide bombers families". I've never seen any proof, have you?

re: By the way, you're trying too hard to justify their "cause" and minimize other factors, such as Saddam's cash payment to the families of those who murder innocent civilians.

I'm not trying to justify anyone's cause. The people trying to justify causes are the Bush hawks.

I wonder who is paying the suicide bombers in Iraq, without Saddam? Iraq is the new record holding capitol of suicide bombers, in case you haven't noticed. More than the Palestinians every dreamed of. It's the pinnacle of the suicide bomb craze. Never have there been so many willing suicide bombers. Why Iraq? Why not Detroit?

I suppose you never wonder what drives people to that much desperation. It's much more comfortable to think they do it for the money. Middle class, well educated people, blowing their bodies to bits for a few bucks.

These folks don't have a thought in their head except the money.
