We were not equipped to invade Iran at the time. We were still badly bruised from 12 long years in Vietnam. America is not Superman. We have our limits. As we are finding out in Iraq and we learned in Korea and Vietnam. The Soviets also learned in Afghanistan. Why didn't Reagan invade Iran when he came in? Huh? Why pick on only tiny countries like El Salvador, Libya and Grenada? Because he knew too. Look what happened when we went to Lebanon.
