Bush rushed to war without a plan for post-invasion and without almost no allies. He also had no proof Saddam had WMD's. Even worse he let Osama go as a result and largely pulled out of Afghanistan. So Al Qaida re-grouped and has actually grown and morphed since then. Bush's problem was he had decided to invade Iraq years before and didn't care about the reality of the situation. Bush was no expert on warfare. And he didn't even ask his father's advice. "Experts" Rumsfield and Cheney were also very naive. Because they were too hungry for blood and oil. Powell, Kerry, even James Baker warned Bush. If you are going to invade a large country, do it the right way and take your time. As the boy scouts say "be prepared". Now we know Bush was not prepared for anything except spinning 57 different reasons why he rushed in and why we're stuck there now.
