Those are not the insurgents, those are the jihadists. We have to keep our players straight even if we're making it up from day to day.

Even Bush is trying to differentiate the Iraqi Sunni insurgency from the furrin terrorist jihadists. That way it's not as if we're negotiating with terrorists although we sure look as if we are.

The US military can't differentiate between insurgents, jihadists and the average pissed off citizen in 120 degree heat without water. If we can't tell who we're shooting at, maybe we should leave.

There's another election coming in December. Would the Iraqi government put a question on the ballot: should the coalition forces leave asap?

Hey, even insurgents would show up for that one. If the majority of Iraqis say - leave - we have an OUT. We wouldn't have done everything we wanted to but we would have jailed Saddam, killed his sons and his grandson and dumped a whole lotta US taxpayer money into that country.
