Now factor that in with the fact that most of the suicide bombers in Iraq are foreigners and you start to wonder exactly how a free and democratic Iraq is going to come about. It is in the interest of almost every country in the ME to see it fail. And we will be throwing great big gobs of money at them for the forseeable future. And top it off with groups like Al Qaeda which see democracy as the mark of Satan and you don't really have a recipe for success. Despite what anyone else wants.

You do have a recipe for a bleeding ulcer of a situation that kills Iraqis and our soldiers on a daily basis indefinitely until we either give up or the oil money stops flowing.
