We can debate the definition of death some other time, though I'm not sure we'd find much to debate.


Death is just the flip-side of birth.
In both cases there are animalistic biological functions, but there is also the borderline between aware and not.

a choice society makes,
That is the essence of the whole discussion.
Some try to frame it as some sort of universal truth, but that too is just a choice they make.
