For those who are fortunate to have jobs and/or investments then it's fine, wherever one lives. But for those without money whose job has been outsourced overseas or who are otherwise unemployable, it isn't fun.

But I agree with you -- one system is as good or as bad as another -- like a game of snakes and ladders it all depends on where one finds oneself in it and the luck one has. And I speak with the firm belief that I have been one of the lucky ones.
