The energy equation is positive on biofuels. It takes less energy to produce ethanol than it does to grow and make it. With better digestion methods using bacteria, the equation for ethanol will make more sense.

It is important to figure all of the energy it takes to produce fuels. Fertilizer, oil for machinery, trucking and production energy. Even doing this biofuels make complete sense and can be used on a local scale to provide an important energy source.

Hemp is better than corn for production of fuel. And corn is king.
