Senate Judiciary Committee

Who are the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee?

The Committee has 10 Republicans and 8 Democrats.

Republicans - Arlen Specter, Orrin G. Hatch, Charles E. Grassley, Jon Kyl, Mike DeWine, Jeff Sessions, Lindsey Graham, John Cornyn, Sam Brownback, Tom Coburn

Democrats - Patrick J. Leahy, Edward M. Kennedy, Joseph R. Biden, Jr., Herbert Kohl, Dianne Feinstein, Russell D. Feingold, Charles E. Schumer, Richard J. Durbin

Any Bush judicial nominee is likely to sail out of committee by a 10-8 margin. If Lindsey Graham or Mike DeWine block a Bush judicial appointment, then either might as well declare their retirement at the same time. Arlen Specter, the chairman, is the most moderate Republican. However, because of Pennsylvania politics, he will support the President’s choice.

I see none of the Democratic Senators supporting a Bush appointee.
