yeah, I'm with her.... invertebrates are cool. try to get her to go for taxonomy, more than touching. there's still touching, but there's lots of research then a burst of touching, followed by lots of research. Etc.

or you can introduce her to hagfish. that may do it, lower vertebrates on down. Of course, there would be all those bills for therapy and she could, shudder, become a chemist.
