Also in Okinawa.

The Japanese government has not asked that the Okinawa base be removed. There are US bases all over Japan, not just on Okinawa.

You are naive to think that the U.S. bases are not intended to be permanent. No Iraqi government will be allowed that won't sign the usual basing agreements that the U.S. demands of its colonies and client states.

It's out of our hands. If the elected leader of Iraq says "get rid of your bases", what do you think the US is going to do - assassinate him?
