Rove's mouthpiece's statements have to be parsed carefully.

"never knowingly disclosed classified information"

Why not just say flat out that he never disclosed classified info? Is he setting up the defense that Rove did not know at the time that the info was classified?

"he did not tell any reporter that Valerie Plame worked for the CIA"

So he claims not to have directly told a reporter ... did he tell anyone else, who then told the reporter?

Of course there's always the chance he is just lying through his teeth.
