"Almost all late stage abortions are for legitimate reasons."

Oh really, and what would some of those be?

"The fertilized egg has no rights."

You are/were a fertilized egg yourself. Stages of development are not what entitles one to "Inalienable Rights", all one needs to be to qualify is to be a Human. That's why they are called "HUMAN RIGHTS"

"Rights derive from self interest. The rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness were stated to be axiomatic because that is what individuals wanted for themselves."

That's not what the D.O.I. says; now is it? In fact it states the opposite. Equal rights are bestowed on "all men" as a result of being the creations of a just God. They are not granted by men and cannot be alienated by men even if they are on the Supreme Court. Dred Scott is a good example. Blacks are entitled to equal justice because they are Human Beings the Court erred in it's decision and eventually corrected itself. The Supreme Court will have a chance to right another wrong decision soon, if they are willing to interpret the American Constitution instead of re writing it in the image of political correctness.
