it would appear we are headed to some type of federal health program down the road. with gene testing or dna etc for damaged cells and predicting future illness it would appear the idea of insurance companies will go away like the horse and buggy.

i can't see health insurance existing the way it does today with the advances in medical sciences. only a federal program to accept everyone into medical coverage regardless of hereditary disease seems to be the future.

insurance companies rely on healthy members to pay for sickness and make a profit. If the company knows of existing problems down the road why would they take on a liability?

Assuming we want to get better at predicting problems we would want to continue projects that support finding new ways to prevent illness. One way is open up everyone's medical records for study and eliminate any financial burden to the public if their files became the knowledge of insurance agencies etc.

rather then build the wall that gets hacked all the time. Let's take down the wall, eliminate the middle person (insurance companies) and build in a federal system with controls over expenses etc.
