You mean maybe you should slander and smear war hero John Kerry by lying and distorting the good work he did to help end the Vietnam War and save thousands of lives?

Knock yourself out, liar. But the fact is, Kerry had US and US troops' interests in mind when he met unofficially with all parties and any interested parties after the peace talks had been going on for some time, and after the end of the war was already a virtual fait accompli. As a highly-decorated war hero, former leader of VVAW and a well-respected civilian veterans' representative working within the system, Kerry's help was much appreciated.

Any vet who lies that the war should have kept going on by 1972 is either insane or totally deluded. Even Nixon wanted it over ASAP.

By 1972, it was just a matter of how and when to officially end the war and let the US troops leave Vietnam with some semblance of dignity. Also to bring home the POW's safely.
Kerry helped on both accounts.

So while technically the war was still going on, Nixon and the US had already given up and were planning to bring the troops home. During this period, Nixon used massive bombing runs as "leverage" but gradually ceased all ground combat operations as the US military prepared to withdraw.

Kerry and all good Americans just wanted to help bring things to a close without more wasted bloodshed. Kerry saved a lot of lives with his brave leadership. You should be praising him not smear him with extremist rightwing lies.
