I'm actually not sure if he ever met with the delegation, only that hs disapproved of the VVAW meeting with them. It may be he never met with them. Although there was a movement amongst the vets to try and negotiate for POW's releases, which may or may not have been approved of by our government.

Remember, at the time, the nation was very divided, like now but even worse. Nixon had beaten McGovern but the nation was very unhappy and wanted the war to end. Kerry would have been seen as a representative of the young generation, the vets and the two thirds of the nation who wanted the war to end.

But did he ever meet with the Vietnamese? All I heard was he might have stopped by to see what was going on, where all kinds of people from the international community and press were openly meeting with them.

If you have any un-biased information, please post it. I'm curious. But bottomline, Kerry did not want to even give the appearance of helping the VC in any way. That's proven by the FBI in the article I posted. However he did want the war to end and the POW's to be released ASAP. As we all did back then. Kerry did the right thing I'm sure. And you can believe that because if he had done anything wrong, Nixon would have hammered him on it and the FBI would have known about it.
