Re: Iran on Saturday sought to play down a series of diplomatic torments encountered by a delegation it sent to Belgium, but stuck by its decision to snub a luncheon with wine on the menu and a woman who wanted to shake hands.

"What happened was very unimportant," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi told the ISNA news agency.

The speaker of Belgium's parliament was forced to cancel a Friday lunch with his ultra-conservative Iranian counterpart, Gholam Ali Hadad Adel, because the Iranian delegation insisted that no alcohol be served.

[...]

The president of the Belgian senate, Anne-Marie Lizin, also withdrew her invitation to Hadad Adel after being informed the Iranian men would not shake [hands with her].

Well, obviously, the protocolary "gaffes" were a coverup for some other incident... As I said, US and Israeli Judeofascists are planning a war/military strike against Iran but it's gonna be all the more difficult the less EU countries cooperate with the US/Israel. Belgian diplomats have played the go-betweens between the US/Israel and Iran for the past few years.
