One more flash tidbit: NROM scales better than floating gate, claimed Eitan. While floating gate oxides are currently 8.5nm thick and have hardly changed in 25 years, according to Eitan, NROM oxides are down to 3nm thick.

“The road of scaling is very clear to us,” said Eitan, “I’m not saying NAND will not scale, but it will be very difficult.”
