What I meant was these progidies don't become either leaders in academic fields or in technology or in business. I can't see anyone prominent who was one of these ultra-early college attenders. If you know one, let me know. Well I am an academic researcher and in my little strange interdisciplinary subfield (ecological economics - I am about the most pro free market ecological economist there is) I am one of the relatively successful ones adjusted for age (for example counted by number of citations). I really don't have much stuff. Either my bicycle or this computer is my most valuable asset, or maybe the futon sofa in the living room :) I tend to spend more money on travel and stuff but try to get other people to pay for that if possible :) So I have lots of savings to invest...
