PennSel Communications Services Selects Microspace's C-2000 Paging Service
RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Microspace Communications Corporation announced today that PennSel Communications Services has selected Microspace's shared C-2000 paging service to control its regional paging system.
The Shared C-2000 Service utilizes Glenayre Technologies' C-2000 advance control format. ``This service allows a paging carrier to have C-2000 control and only pay for the bandwidth required to support their network,'' said Joe Amor, Vice President and General Manager of Microspace. ``We are delighted PennSel has chosen Microspace to be their Service Provider,'' he added.
``The Shared C-2000 Service has been available for approximately six months and has been well received. The concept allows both Glenayre and Microspace to reach a larger market with this new mutually compatible service. This is not a partnership, but an opportunity for both companies to benefit from each other's expertise,'' said John Bimrose, Account Manager for Microspace's paging services.
Microspace is a wholly owned subsidiary of Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc., a privately held company with headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. More than 225,000 downlinks and 8 million pagers depend on Microspace's satellite network.
PennSel Communications is a division of R.F. Communications and is based in Catawissa, Pennsylvania. The PennSel network operates in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
