There may be some real good that comes from the SC decision. If state and local governments either prevent or make more difficult future decisions to seize or condemn or otherwise damage private property, we could end up with MORE protection rather than less.

It's a difficult issue though. I can also see the side of the government (I think Ben Franklin thought this) which wants to prevent vast chunks of land being owned by a handful of people. We don't see this that often but way back when in England and in the US they must have.
