France and Germany's motives in Iraq were not at all genuine. It's no coincidence that they call Chirac. Jacques "Iraq" Chirac. France and Germany had quite a bit of money at stake in Iraq. In addition, both Chirac and Schroeder were elected due to their anti-American stances. Their whole popularity rested on their anti-American stance because both of their countries were going down the drain due to their oppressive socialistic policies. Now that the people are holding them both accountable again for jobs and not just for America bashing, both are in serious trouble politically. Schroeder just lost a no-confidence vote. Chirac is very unpopular. You should read more. Not all is as it seems and France and Germany are not as lily white as you'd like to think they are.
