France and Germany's motives in Iraq were not at all genuine. It's no coincidence that they call Chirac. Jacques "Iraq" Chirac. France and Germany had quite a bit of money at stake in Iraq. In addition, both Chirac and Schroeder were elected due to their anti-American stances. Their whole popularity rested on their anti-American stance because both of their countries were going down the drain due to their oppressive socialistic policies. Now that the people are holding them both accountable again for jobs and not just for America bashing, both are in serious trouble politically. Schroeder just lost a no-confidence vote. Chirac is very unpopular. You should read more. Not all is as it seems and France and Germany are not as lily white as you'd like to think they are.

Sorry, now its my turn. You are so warped by GOP dogma, its very difficult to talk to you.

There is always tension between the US and Europe.......we are allies, not soulmates. However, Bush has polarized the Europeans like no president I know. And its not all his fault although a lot of it is. When the Europeans smell a poser, they can be major buttholes. And they decided early on that Bush was a poser........a rube. They got off on the wrong foot, and like the surly American presidents currently presented in European film these days, he decided to rub their noses in it. Big mistake.........you will only make things worse.

What should concern you more is that Bush is managing to isolate us from even our closest allies. Whenever someone does that, whether its a spouse or a friend or a colleague, its best to open one's eyes and watch closely.
