First, as to the poll you noted by George Magazine....good grief....no numbers as to how many polled, who they were, or much of anything else noted....I could interview 9 people and have 65% or so percent of whatever I wanted....but then, you knew that already.
While you are examining courses, see if you can get some old NY State Regents's Tests and Answers...compare those to ANY school in the country....Jewish, Christian/Catholic and Public...even the current NY test results should be compared to the former NY Regents....
Re Religion and the Sciences in general....Probably a study of all the Astronauts we have had over the years, their courses through the years, their adventures into space, and then maybe a talk with them about their religion, if any.....would be appropriate.
