Over 16,000 people were interviewed for slots in a free tropical retreat. These were people with no respect for the rules of war, and are being treated with much greater respect than they have demonstrated. Of those released several have either been killed or captured on the battlefield after their release. So if you would fly halfway around the world to fight against freedom and for tyranny, you should expect no better treatment. Many countries would summarily execute them. I they had worn the military uniform of a country, they would have earned Geneva Convention rights. They eschewed that choice.
