Wrong conclusion to the data you just described. As a group, men and women have the same IQ. There aren't enough individual males at either end of the tail to change the aggregate numbers.

BTW -- if Summers had wondered whether the reason blacks don't get ahead in science was because they have lower IQs -- that would have been better science than speculating about women's IQ. But nobody (well, no intelligent person) can look at a black scientist and tell him that he shouldn't get ahead because of all of the people who have the same skin color who are not as intelligent as he is, and that, statistically speaking, he should be in jail. It's clearly a specious argument.

You don't expect exceptional individuals to fail because failure is normal for the group.
