Lone Star, I even like drinking your name, so you definitely have an in. When you talk about growth, it depends upon what you are talking about. I will answer nearly every possibility and try to cover the waterfront. All are 5 year projections: 1. Sales, in bit terms, will grow 1500 percent. 2. Sales in dollars will triple. 3. Sales in units will quadruple. 4. Profits at the chip firms will grow to about 80 percent of their calendar 1995 level. I am not counting Intel in the profit calculation because it is a monopoly that sells at whatever price they want. These projections are very broad brush, but they take in several factors. One is that chips are getting smaller and more capable. Second is that there is a glut in nearly every category and we will not see a shortage for a long time. That means price growth, and revenues and profits will be subdued. My shakiest number is units, number 3. I don't really know how much will be on one chip in 2001, and that will impact units dramatically. Good luck, MB
