I do think that we fail to understand one important point. The Muslims are the biggests victims of this tyranny and oppression from the fundamentalists. This event should illuminate the shared pain between Muslims and the West. Muslims are profoundly upset in many areas of the world because of their indecent treatment by the terrorists. People in Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, and other places have been subjected to horrible treatment by the terrorists claiming to be freedom fighters. In reality, the extremists are imposing their inhumane treatment of women and minority Muslims in the societies that they have promised to defend. Once they get in your town, the extremists impose a complete lockdown on all freedoms with the threat of death to anyone that cooperates against their fundamentalism.

They have convinced the West that Islam is bent on the destruction of the West. They have convinced the Muslims the West is trying to enforce their will on Islam. Meanwhile, they freely terrorize people from both groups and go slip by unnoticed as ordinary Muslims. That facade is beginning to crack.

The assination of the Egyptian ambassador is a prime example of Al Quaeda intent. How could you possibly justify the killing of a Muslim ambassador from one country to the next? There is absolutely no logic behind this kind of action. Muslims will begin to take notice of these terrible acts and turn against the "freedom fighters" that have turned out to be their worst nightmare.

It is simply amazing to see how many Muslim allies we have now compared to 4 years ago following the 911 attacks. I thought the war was going to destroy our reputation in the ME. Now, we have allies in almost every Muslim state. Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and even Palestine (maybe too early to tell.) Meanwhile, the world is beginning to wonder, "What if Bush was right?" I think everyone got a better image of these whacked out jihadis from places like Algiers & Morroco. Wasn't the G8 Summit supposed to discuss financial assistance for Africa? Now, they are begging for some attention, but maybe not the kind they had imagined.
