Galloway in England is not shy about voicing his opinion.
Bomb attacks 'the price' for Iraq From correspondents in London July 08, 2005 FIREBRAND British MP George Galloway says Londoners have "paid the price" for Britain sending soldiers into Iraq and Afghanistan after bomb blasts in the capital killed at least 37 people.
"We argued, as did the security services in this country, that the attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq would increase the threat of terrorist attack in Britain," Mr Galloway said.
"Tragically Londoners have now paid the price of the Government ignoring such warnings."
The Respect Party MP for east London's Bethnal Green and Bow said told parliament the attacks were despicable, but entirely predictable.
"There was nothing unpredictable about this attack this morning (yesterday evening AEST). Despicable, yes, but not unpredictable. Entirely predictable and, I predict, not the last, either," he said.
"Let there be no equivocation: the primary responsibility for the bloodshed this morning lies with those who carried out the acts.
"But it would be utterly crass to ... separate these acts from the political backdrop against which they took place.
"They did not come out of a clear blue sky, any more than those monstrous mosquitoes that struck the twin towers and other buildings in the United States on September 11 2001." |
