Metro New York is Commerce Bank's largest market, with $16 billion in deposits. Commerce, a power retailer that has achieved exceptional financial results and wide customer acceptance throughout its footprint, has achieved extraordinary growth in the New York marketplace - going from zero retail locations in late 2001 to 38 today in the five boroughs. In addition to Chinatown, Commerce will open four other new Manhattan stores this year:

-- a regional headquarters at 42nd Street & Madison Avenue
-- a flagship store at 2 Wall Street
-- 109th Street & Broadway
-- 21st Street & Park Avenue

Commerce has 182 convenient locations throughout metro New York and plans ultimately to build a network of 400-plus locations in the metro New York area.

The new 7,500-square-foot Chinatown store offers customers a convenient, high-visibility corner location in an area filled with other retailers and banks. Commerce offers customers 7-day banking, a wide variety of free products and services and an unparalleled level of service and convenience. Reflecting its commitment to the local community and its industry-leading innovation and service philosophy, Commerce Bank in Chinatown will feature:

-- Chinese-English bilingual ATMs and information materials
-- Three free, "Penny Arcade" coin-counting machines
