I disagree with this assessment for a couple of reasons. The London and Madrid bombings follow the Algeria and Paris model, which is typically North African. It is an attack that does not require too much in the way of planning or sophistication. Make a few bombs, blow them up at more or less the same time in a public transportation hub at the beginning of the day to get maximum media exposure.

The Arab AQ terror model is a grand attack such as 9/11 or the planned but foiled Eiffel Tower and Los Angeles New Year's events. These attacks are complex and require sophisticated planning and logistics. Thus, they are by necessity fewer in number.

The fact that we have not have had a grand attack is not evidence that none is planned.

I think Belgravia, though a keen observer, is wrong, wrong, wrong...
